Tim Hortons The Away Game

Tim Hortons gave the only ice hockey team in Kenya the opportunity of a lifetime. The Kenyan Ice Lions are the only hockey team in their country, and they play on the only ice rink found in east and central Africa. NHL stars Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon joined the Ice Lions, adding to the special moment. Within four days, the video racked up 4,000,000 views; after 72 hours, social media impressions hit 8,000,000. Engagement increased on Facebook (301%), Instagram (264%) and Twitter (1,833%). Tim Hortons also made a donation to Kenya's youth hockey league.
